Dear Cedar Springs Members,

We hope you are all keeping well and healthy. The COVID-19 pandemic is of great concern to all Canadians and as your Board of Directors we have been virtually meeting to discuss our best course of action. Our primary sources of information are the Government of Canada, The Provincial Government of Ontario, the Municipality of Halton, Public Health and messaging from our Prime Minister and Premier. We have been working with a newly formed advisory committee led by Barbara Schmidt and Haresh Kirpalani. They are supported by Janet Guay, Arash Arani, and Kassia Johnston. As medical professionals, they have offered to contribute their tremendous expertise to provide guidance during the pandemic. The situation is changing on a weekly basis and our goal will be to keep the club updated as to the impact of COVID-19 on our community in a regular and timely manner.

Effectively immediately, all facilities including the golf course, tennis courts, beach, pavilion, pickleball, and all communal areas are now closed due to Government of Canada and Public Health direction.

Our operations staff is extremely busy preparing the club for the time when we are able to function on a more normal basis. If you have questions regarding the facilities or any other queries please direct them to both Laurie and Iain and we will be happy to answer any questions you may have. We will share your correspondence as needed with the Board members.

We will be abiding by the May meeting timelines and sending your information packages by email. No paper packages will be distributed. There will not, however, be a physical meeting in May and there is no requirement in our bylaws that we need to hold one.

At this time the Board of Directors will follow Government directives and temporarily suspend all social activities and planned group events until further notice. As the COVID-19 situation evolves, we will continue to provide updates based on information provided by the Government and through consultation with our own medical advisory team. All members must comply with government and medical directives and observe social distancing at all times while at Cedar Springs. The Ontario Government has made it clear that private facilities are under the same restrictions as the general public.

For those who have returned from out of the country, we are happy you are back and safe. As a point of clarification, following the 14 day quarantine, please note that social distancing practices are still required. This means we all stay a minimum of 2 metres (6.5 feet)  apart from each other and in groups no greater than five. Only immediate family members who live in the same household should be interacting with one another.

Additional updates will be shared with you on a regular basis.
