Tuesday July 29th

We had a terrific turn out at Junior Golf. The weather was hot but that didn’t deter the young golfers from putting their best “ball” forward. Some great shots by the Juniors.
We started the morning by chipping into umbrellas, and putting 5 balls around the practice green, and trying to topple a wall of blocks with a hard putt. Then away we went with our volunteer golf cart drivers to play some holes of golf. We are keeping a record of how many putts it is taking to sink the ball. Big improvement from the beginning of the summer.

Kepler Hamp had his longest drive to date on the 1st hole. Oscar Crane was very close to toppling down the wall of blocks. Charlie Prins had a wonderful 2nd shot to the 4th green over the trees and made the putt for a birdie. Charlie is off to Scotland this week to play in a Pro Amateur Golf Tournament. It was nice to see Asta and Tor (Hartwell) who are here for a visit. Their Great Aunt Barbie McDowell (Sally’s sister) and her daughter Jennie and Chantal Hartwell were here to cheer them on. That’s 4 generations of golfers in one place.

Thanks to the “cart girl” and her helpers who brought cold drinks to the junior golfers.
There will be NO golf next Monday because of Sports Day and the Married vs Single Baseball game.

See everyone on Monday August 12th at 9:30 a.m.
Keep on golfing!!!
