Dear Cedar Springs Friends,

Welcome to another Cedar Springs season. As we  prepare to enjoy the summer there is so much to be grateful for. In a time when the pandemic has had a challenging impact on so many people, we continue to have the opportunity to spend time in beautiful surroundings with caring neighbours.  In reflecting on the Cedar Springs community, there is always a feeling of “coming home” upon entering the gates. Stress and daily pressures drop away quickly as a genuine sense of calm settles into our beings. With each passing member wave, a reassurance that we are in a safe place where memories are made and shared surrounds us.

The Board of Directors has done a tremendous job working together throughout a most unprecedented time in history. Although there are always situations to navigate, it seems that this particular one, COVID-19,

has been especially unsettling. Perhaps more than ever,  members have continued to cherish their time at Cedar Springs. Recognizing the privilege we all enjoy  as a community, many have expressed a renewed appreciation for the preservation of our Club, and the environment we enjoy.

Leading a community through various issues, some small and some complex, has been a privilege. What came to light was that our members are supportive and kind, regardless of the circumstances. When asked to put together a welcome, I was reminded to “write from the heart” because I was “among friends.” The truth is, the essence of Cedar Springs is our connectedness as a family of friends.  We have intentionally proclaimed our commitment to inclusivity and continue to foster a community where everyone enjoys a sense of belonging.

Enjoy every moment of the summer season.  Stay well.

Laurie Reid, President of Cedar Springs
